Reading “Boost” Camp

This summer, Play on Words is proud to offer a 5-day literacy enrichment program, Reading “BOOST” Camp! This one-of-a-kind, 1:1 program is perfect for preschoolers, rising kindergarteners, and early elementary-aged students that may need a reading boost over the summer!

Skills targeted will be based upon your child’s age and current reading level, but may include: phonological awareness, letter recognition, letter-sound awareness, decoding of simple words, digraphs, vowel teams, and more. During this week-long program, you can expect a variety of play-based and hands-on activities to enhance your child’s early literacy skills. Each session is individualized to your child, but fun is guaranteed!

Each session is provided 1:1 in-home (or at your child’s daycare or preschool). We make it easy by traveling to you! Each session is 30 minutes in length, lasting a total of 5 sessions across 1 week. See below for our current availability.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The total investment is $375 for 5 sessions, or $75 per session. We are not able to provide a superbill for this program.

  • No! A formal evaluation is not required to participate in our Reading “Boost” Camp. This is intended to be an enrichment program, designed to enhance and support your child’s existing literacy skills using evidence-based strategies.

  • Each session may look different based upon the skill targeted, but you can expect a variety of fun and hands-on activities. Examples could include play-based activities, worksheets, games, arts and crafts, sensory bins, etc. When designing activities, Play on Words likes to consider your child’s unique interests and learning styles.
